IEC 60534-1:2023 applies to all types of industrial-process control valves (hereinafter referred to as control valves). This document establishes a partial basic terminology list and provides guidance on the use of all other parts of IEC 60534.

IEC 60534-1:2023 - Industrial-process control valves - Part 1: Control valve terminology and general considerations - is the fourth edition of the IEC foundational standard for control valves. It applies to all types of industrial-process control valves and provides a partial basic terminology list plus guidance for using the remainder of the IEC 60534 series. This edition updates and clarifies definitions to harmonize with current industry terminology.
