IEC 60966-3:2008 is a sectional specification that relates to semi-flexible coaxial cable assemblies operating in the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM). It establishes uniform requirements for testing the electrical, mechanical and climatic properties of flexible cable assemblies composed of flexible coaxial cables and coaxial connectors. The major change with respect to the second edition is a better definition of the tests to be performed. This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 60966-1:1999

Overview
IEC 60966-3:2008 is the sectional specification for semi-flexible coaxial cable assemblies used in radio frequency (RF) applications operating in the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM). It defines uniform requirements and test procedures for finished assemblies (cable + connectors) to verify electrical, mechanical and climatic performance. This third edition refines and clarifies the tests to be performed and is intended to be read in conjunction with IEC 60966-1:1999 (generic specification).

- Flexure and flexing-endurance tests are not applicable to semi‑flexible assemblies.
- Additional bump and shock tests when specified.
