IEC 61754-20:2012 defines the standard interface dimensions for the type LC family of connectors. The changes with respect to the previous edition are to reconsider the whole document and to add Interface IEC 61754-20-9 to IEC 61754-20-16 for a plastic optical fibre (POF). Keywords: LC connectors

IEC 61754-20:2012 specifies the standard interface dimensions and intermateability rules for the Type LC connector family used in fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components. This edition revises the original 2002 standard and adds specific interfaces (IEC 61754-20-9 to 20-16) for plastic optical fibre (POF). The standard covers simplex and duplex plug, adaptor and active-device receptacle interfaces, ferrule/endface types (PC and APC) and the special cases for 1.25 mm ferrules and 1 mm POF.
