IEC 62343-1:2016 provides a performance standard of general conditions for dynamic modules. All dynamic modules should satisfy required performance defined in individual performance standards on the general conditions defined in this document. Additional conditions may be included in individual performance standards.

Overview
IEC 62343-1:2016 defines the general performance conditions for dynamic modules used in optical transmission equipment. It establishes a common set of operating conditions and spectral band references so that individual performance standards can specify specific test requirements against a consistent baseline. Dynamic modules are typically installed in temperature- and humidity-controlled central-office environments; this standard ensures that performance measurements and design verification are comparable across products and vendors.
