IEC 62453-2:2022 explains the common principles of the field device tool concept. IEC 62453-2:2022 (Field Device Tool - FDT interface specification, Part 2: Concepts and detailed description, Edition 3.0 2022-08) defines the core concepts, object models and interaction rules that form the foundation of the FDT framework. The standard explains common principles of the Field Device Tool concept used across engineering systems, configuration programs, monitoring and diagnostic applications and provides the general objects, object behavior and object interactions used by FDT implementations.
