IEC 62599-1:2010 specifies environmental test methods to be used for testing the system components of the following alarm systems, intended for use in and around buildings: - access control systems, for security applications; - alarm transmission systems; - CCTV systems, for security applications; - combined and/or integrated systems; - intruder and hold-up alarm systems; - remote receiving and/or surveillance centres; - social alarm systems.

IEC 62599-1:2010 - Alarm systems: Part 1 Environmental test methods specifies environmental test methods used to assess the durability and functional performance of alarm-system components intended for use in and around buildings. The standard applies to a broad range of security‑related systems, including access control, alarm transmission, CCTV for security, combined/integrated systems, intruder and hold‑up alarms, remote receiving/surveillance centres, and social alarm systems.
