Overview

ISO 11660-1:2008 - Cranes - Access, guards and restraints - Part 1: General sets out the general safety requirements for access, guards and restraints on cranes (as defined in ISO 4306-1) during normal operation, maintenance, inspection, erection, dismantling and emergency use. It addresses protection of persons on or near cranes from moving parts, falling objects and live parts, and defines basic dimensions, loadings and functional rules for access systems (stairs, ladders, walkways), handholds, guardrails, toeboards and related devices.
