ISO 19085-9:2024

Overview

ISO 19085-9:2024 - Woodworking machines - Safety - Part 9: Circular saw benches (with and without sliding table) - sets out safety requirements and measures for table saws designed for continuous production use. The standard applies to machines that cut solid wood and materials with similar physical characteristics (see ISO 19085-1:2021). It addresses hazards during operation, adjustment and maintenance, and also covers transport, assembly, dismantling, disabling and scrapping. Reasonably foreseeable misuse is considered. Machines fitted with devices such as scoring units, grooving milling tools (≤20 mm width), demountable power feed units, additional sliding tables, and powered workpiece clamps are included. Exclusions include outdoor building-site saws (ISO 19085-10:2018), handheld machines, machines for explosive atmospheres, and machines made before this publication.
