The standard specifies sample preparation, solid-phase extraction (SPE), chromatographic separation on a C18 stationary phase, UV detection with a photodiode array detector, and quantitation using an internal standard (thymidine 5′-monophosphate, TMP). The method is equivalent to AOAC Official Method 2011.20 and was developed by ISO/TC 34 (Food products).
