This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (i. e. ISO 2423 : 1974). Describes both geometrical and pratical tests on these general purpose and normal accurasy radial drilling machines, and gives the corresponding permissible deviations which apply. Deals only with the verification of the accuracy of the machine. Does not apply to the testing of the running of the machine (vibrations, abnormal noises, stick-slip motion of components, etc.), or the characteristics (speeds, feeds, etc.), which shall generally be checked before the accurasy is tested.

ISO 2423:1982 - "Acceptance conditions for radial drilling machines with the arm adjustable in height - Testing of accuracy" is an ISO standard that defines how to verify the accuracy of general-purpose, normal-accuracy radial drilling machines whose arm can be adjusted in height. This second edition (1982) cancels ISO 2423:1974 and focuses exclusively on accuracy verification (geometrical and practical tests) and the corresponding permissible deviations. It does not cover running characteristics (vibration, noise, speeds/feeds) which should be checked before accuracy testing.
