This document specifies a method, using a temperature-gradient oven, for determining the resistance of an individual-layer or multi-layer system of coating materials to the effects of liquids or paste-like products. ISO 2812-5:2018 specifies the temperature‑gradient oven method for assessing the resistance of single‑layer or multi‑layer paint and varnish systems to liquids and paste‑like substances. The method exposes coated test panels to controlled droplets of test liquids across a linear temperature gradient, enabling determination of the temperature at which the coating first shows visible change and (if required) any substrate damage.
