ISO 3573:2012 applies to hot-rolled carbon steel sheet of commercial and drawing qualities. Hot-rolled steel sheet is suitable for many applications where the presence of oxide or scale, or normal surface imperfections disclosed after removal of oxide or scale, are not objectionable. It is not suitable for applications where the surface is of prime importance.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 3573:2012 specifies requirements for (HR1–HR4). It covers material dimensions, chemical composition, mechanical properties, manufacturing conditions (descaling, skin pass, oiling, edges), inspection and testing. The standard applies to hot-rolled steel sheet produced in coils or cut lengths and is intended for applications where surface oxide/scale or normal surface imperfections are acceptable - it is for uses where the surface finish is critical.
