ISO 4253:1993 specifies dimensional and positional requirements for the operator’s seating accommodation on agricultural tractors with a track width greater than 1 150 mm. The standard defines the Seat Index Point (SIP) as the reference, and gives rules for locating key controls - steering wheel, clutch pedal, brake pedal(s) and throttle/accelerator pedal - relative to the SIP. These standardized dimensions support ergonomic, safe and consistent cab and seat design for tractor manufacturers and equipment designers.
