ISO 4254-17:2022

Overview

ISO 4254-17:2022 is an international agricultural machinery safety standard that defines safety requirements and verification methods specifically for root crop harvesters. Intended to be used together with ISO 4254-1, this Type‑C standard covers the design and construction of trailed, mounted or self‑propelled harvesters (sieving, root‑lifting and top‑lifting types) and haulm/leaf toppers used on their own. It applies mainly to machines manufactured after the publication date and focuses on preventing hazards during operations such as topping, digging/taking‑in/lifting, cleaning, conveying and unloading of root crops.
