ISO 7176-4:2008 - "Wheelchairs - Part 4: Energy consumption of electric wheelchairs and scooters for determination of theoretical distance range" specifies standardized methods to measure electrical energy consumption and to calculate the theoretical distance range of electrically powered wheelchairs and scooters. The standard applies to vehicles with a maximum nominal speed ≤ 15 km/h and single-occupant design whose mass range is represented by ISO 7176-11. • Procedure notes: Warm‑up laps (10 clockwise + 10 anti‑clockwise) are required before testing; energy recorded over test laps is used to calculate specific energy consumption (Wh/km) and theoretical range using nominal battery energy capacity.
• Reporting & disclosure: Test reports must include measured energy consumption, track length, test conditions, battery capacity and calculated theoretical ranges. Disclosure requirements align with other ISO 7176 documentation.
