Measurement methods

Scanner OECF (opto-electronic conversion function): measure and linearize scanner tonal response using grey-scale patches (referenced to ISO 14524).
Edge SFR (Spatial Frequency Response) using the slanted edge technique: digital algorithm analyses pixel values near slanted edges to compute SFR, enabling measurement beyond the Nyquist limit by sampling across many phases.
Limiting visual resolution and aliasing evaluation using bitonal elements.

Test conditions and reporting

Specifies environmental conditions (temperature, humidity), luminance/colour measurements, linearization, and scanner settings.
Results presentation formats and required data (OECF curves, resolution/SFR plots) are defined.
