Abstract
Overview
ISO 15501-1:2016/Amd 1:2021 is an important amendment to the international standard governing safety requirements for compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems in road vehicles. Developed by ISO Technical Committee ISO/TC 22, Subcommittee SC 41, this amendment builds on the third edition of the 2016 standard by enhancing safety protocols, especially concerning electronic control units (ECUs) and electrical system protections. It provides critical updates to ensure robust safety measures are integrated into the design, installation, and operation of CNG fuel systems in vehicles.
