EN ISO 8028:2024 - "Rubber and/or plastics hoses and hose assemblies for airless paint spraying - Specification" - defines material, construction, performance and marking requirements for hoses and hose assemblies used in high‑pressure airless paint spraying. Published by CEN/ISO in 2024, it replaces the 2018 edition and applies to four hose types differentiated by maximum working pressure and operating temperature. This standard is essential for manufacturers, test laboratories, specifiers and purchasers of airless spray equipment.

- Construction and materials

- An electrically conductive element (conductive compound or bonding wires) must be incorporated and connected to fittings to meet electrical‑continuity requirements throughout service life. Hoses are marked Ω (conductive compounds) or M (bonding wires).
- Permanent, electrically conducting couplings are required and shall only be used if they meet test criteria.

- Inside diameters and tolerances are specified (see Table 1 in the standard) to ensure compatibility with fittings and spray equipment.

- Adhesion between lining/lamination and cover/lamination measured per ISO 8033: minimum 0.8 kN/m (ID ≤ 20 mm) and 0.9 kN/m (ID > 20 mm); three samples per production run.
- Hydrostatic testing per ISO 1402 and hydraulic‑pressure impulse testing per ISO 6803.
- Electrical resistance and conductivity per ISO 8031 to ensure safe dissipation of static charge.
- UV resistance (plastics cover) per ISO 30013: no cracking; ozone resistance (rubber cover) referenced to applicable test methods.
- Marking, packaging and test reporting
- Marking requirements, frequency of testing and packaging/storage recommendations are specified.
