ISO 4252:2007

Overview

ISO 4252:2007 specifies dimensional requirements for the operator’s workplace, access and exit of agricultural tractors with a minimum track width greater than 1 150 mm. The standard defines minimum sizes for access doorways, the number, location and minimum dimensions of emergency exits, and required internal cabin clearances to ensure safe entry, egress and operation.

  • Soft materials (padding) may intrude up to 50 mm into required clearances.

  • Minimum free space around controls varies by actuation force:
    • Controls requiring >150 N: 50 mm clearance
    • Controls requiring 80–150 N: 25 mm clearance
    • Controls <80 N: provide adequate clearance for operation
  • Minimum distance between steering wheel periphery and cabin wall/controls: 80 mm (exceptions for controls on the steering column).
