EN ISO 3452-6:2008 / ISO 3452-6:2008 provides specific requirements for non-destructive penetrant testing (PT) carried out at low temperatures (below +10 °C). It complements the general penetrant testing principles and material testing rules given in ISO 3452‑1 and ISO 3452‑2 by addressing effects of cold on penetrant materials, process times and product qualification. The standard defines how to qualify penetrants and developers for use at the minimum temperature claimed by the manufacturer and gives practical process and safety guidance for testing in cold environments.
